Condolences

Condolence From: Girish Mehta
Condolence: My sincere condolences to them Ainley family. Bill was a wonderful person with a big heart. I started my engineering career in 1972, thanks to Bill. I had very fond memories of how welcoming Bill and Trudy were and can never forget the joy they brought to the staff especially during Christmas parties. Bill and Trudy made every effort to know the employee’s spouse and family, incredible. The consulting knowledge acquired at Ainleys was very useful in my new ventures in Calgary and other cities. Bill, Trudy and the family welcomed me every time I visited them at their office in Collingwood office.

Condolence: I've always admired Mr. Ainley. He gave me my first job 30 years ago. I learned alot from him, not only technically but how to be a Professional. Even after I left Ainley Group, my first wife still recounted how welcoming and gracious Bill and Trudy were when she first met them. I have always appreciated Mr. Ainley. He used to use a green pen to mark up reports and drawings. Similarly, I still use a green pen to do the same. He made the world a better place.

Condolence: Our sympathy to all the family. Bill was a true gentleman, a lovely family man and made such a significant difference in the world. He made me so welcome when i visited from the UK. My Mum and Dad (Muriel and Derrick Mallison) held both Bill and Trudy in very high regard and valued their friendship that began before they all married when Mum and Trudy did their nursing training together in Leeds. Love, strength and blessings to you all. He goes to the Lord having done his work on earth. Carol, Matthew, Jonathan, Catherine and Alec. x

Condolence: I knew Bill many years ago when I was a planner @ the Min of Municipal Affairs. He was a highly principled and very professional man to work with and always receptive to our comments on his proposals on behalf of his clients. I have often wondered how he was and am sorry to learn he has moved on his journey. My deepest sympathies to his family on their loss... he was a "good" man.

Condolence: Bill was the perfect gentleman and certainly the most ethical engineer I ever had the pleasure and privilege to work with. His advice and mentoring was invaluable. Over the many years I knew him, I grew to appreciate all that he stood for. Had I not met/known him I would be a lesser person than I am today. Thank you Bill and Trudy for all that you have meant to us and our family. You will never *ever* be forgotten. Terry & Sandra Hardy

Condolence: My best wishes to the Ainsley family. I first met Bill as a student in 1967 or 1968. He hired me for a summer job as a site inspector. I went into engineering as a career and always have thought of Bill as a mentor and someone to emulate. He was a true professional and always there to help others and offer advice. Early in my career I called on him several times and he graciously listened and offered sage advice. Great man and an honour to have known him. You set an example for others to follow. World needs more Bill Ainley’s. RIP

Condolence From: Ron Emo
Condolence: I joined George Zubek in our Survey Practice in 1963. We shared an Office with Bill over Topps Dept Store. We had two employees and he had one. We moved out in 1965 and by that time, Bill had taken over much of the second floor. In 1963, as well, May family and I attended All Saints, where Bill was a Warden and Morley Ford was the other Warden. Both of their wives were pregnant and both men were hobbling around owing to ski injuries. I thought what a strange place. Bill and Trudy have been great citizens and Community Supporters from those early days Respectfully Ron Emo

Condolence From: Janice Laking
Condolence: My Ainley Christmas card is beside me at my computer. My intentions were to write Bill a note and tell him how much I appreciate being remembered after all these years. He was a good business man and a very good friend. I remember with fondness the dinner and card parties that he sponsored in Creemore. It was an opportunity for me, a city alderman, in those early days before I moved into the big chair, to "break bread" with county councillors - much appreciated I lost my John, last month, after 65 years of marriage, so my thoughts are with you Trudy, and family.
