Smith, Reverend John Albert
Peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday May 23, 2018 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood in his 71st year, John went to be with the Lord. John of Wasaga Beach, beloved husband and best friend for 51 years to Brenda (nee Hallman). Loving father of Richard Smith (Bonnie Ford) and Andrea Smith (Regan Trolley). Cherished grandfather of Mitchel Trolley, Justin and Trenton Smith and Ashley Phillips and two great grandchildren Marceline Trolley and Divonne Phillips. Dear brother of Reta (Ed Main) and the late Dwight Smith. John will also be missed by his mother-in-law Myrtle Hallman, brother-in-law Robert Hallman and sister-in-law Carolyn Shea and his many nieces. John is predeceased by nephew Warren Shea. John was blessed to have touched many lives during his almost 71 years and through pastoring of many churches. He made friends easily, shared his wonderful sense of humour openly, loved the peacefulness of the outdoors where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and a round of golf. He loved wintering in Texas where he played guitar with his many friends. He was happiest when surrounded by friends and his family. He will be deeply missed. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Friday May 25, 2018 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday May 26, 2018 at the Stayner Evangelical Missionary Church, 202 Ontario Street, Stayner from 10 a.m. for the Funeral Service at 11 o’clock. Reception to follow. Private interment Ebenezer Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation for Campbell House or Emmanuel Bible College would be appreciated by John’s family.
