Jim seemed a quiet and gruff man, but he could always manage a smile and a joke when you least expected it. I knew him as an acquaintance for nearly 20 years. He was very proud of his daughter and grand-daughter, showing me pictures when I saw him and there was always a softness and pure happiness in his eyes when he spoke of Jessie and Sadie. My deepest sympathies to you. Jessie, always talk about Jim as Sadie grows up. She will have these stories to remember in the absence of the man who loved her.
