Condolence: We were so sad to learn of Great Aunt Eileen's passing. She was an inspiring woman and so sweet and kind. Her pies and tarts will go down in history as the best. Condolence: My condolences to the Giffen family at this sad time. I still picture Gram working in the kitchen at the store. Some days the old stove would be smoking a bit and I knew the tarts were overflowing a little and would be caramelizing on the edge of the shell. My favorite, none better! I admired her strong character, her work ethic, her love and pride in her family and her love and concern for neighbours. A wonderful smile.

Condolence: When I was 14 and 15 I rode my bike to the Giffen farm from Websterville to pick strawberries and raspberries. One day i understood I was to work only in the morning so I didn't take my lunch. As it turned out there were more berries than expected so I just kept on working. When the berries were all picked it was time to go home (hungry). Eileen found out I had no lunch and she took me into the house and gave me a ham sandwich and a piece of lemon meringue pie. Nothing ever has tasted so good.And it was all done with such kindness. I have many happy memories of Eileen and I will always remember her. There is a wonderful painting of her in the store. Look at it and remember.
