Condolence: With shock and sadness we are saying goodbye to an old friend of the Racqueteers Tennis Club, Wasaga Beach. Until his recent illness Claudius was an ever-present at our courts along with Sam. Over the years they became an integral part of our club, even serving a term on our executive team. I always enjoyed playing with Claudius because his competitive spirit meant that he always gave 100% to his game. Facing him across the net he was a formidable opponent and you knew from the get go that you were going to be challenged. I have to say he was a little kinder with the ladies than he was with the men. We can all remember certain games either playing with him or against him where we extended rallies with some great shots being made. We shared many conversations at the courts and socials and he would always have good input concerning the running of the club. It is difficult for our club members to accept his passing as he was one of the most energetic players at the club. Claudius will always be remembered fondly by his friends at the Racqueteers Club and with his passing he will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with Sam and Claudius' family.
