De Bruyn, Hubertus Ludo
Died peacefully on Friday September 1, 2017 at his home with his loving wife at his side at the age of 87. Hubert of Wasaga Beach, formerly of Hamilton, beloved husband of Nina De Bruyn for over 66 years. Loving father of Sonia and her husband Charles Burgoyne. Cherished grandfather of Ryan and his wife Jennifer and Michael and his wife Meghan. Great grandfather of Kennedy, Shayne and Carter. Hubert and Nina immigrated from Belgium to Hamilton in 1958. He was an industrious man who would lend a helping hand to anyone. He enjoyed his garden, cherished his pets, enjoyed watching his grandsons play hockey, loved cooking and spending time fishing with Nina. He was a longtime millwright at Dofasco. Hubert will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Friends will be received at the Carruthers and Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Thursday September 7, 2017 from 12:30 until 1 p.m. The Memorial Service will follow at 1 o’clock. Reception to follow. If desired, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by Hubert’s family.
