Died peacefully on Sunday April 30, 2017 at Campbell House, Collingwood surrounded by family in her 97th year. Carmen of Wasaga Beach, beloved wife of the late Charles Vigilant. Loving mother of the late Morris Embleton, Bonita Embleton, Ruby Vigilance, Melrose (Winston Agard), Pauline Vigilance, Richlyn Spalding, Anne Vigilance, Diane (the late Eddie Blackman), Desiree (Vijay Naraine), Esther Elia (the late Cleve Kidd), Jerry (Sylvia) Vigilance and David Vigilance. Carmen will be fondly remembered by her 38 grandchildren, 70 + great grandchildren and 5+great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her 8 siblings and also missed by her many nieces and nephews. The family wish to thank the staff and caregivers of CCAC, St. Elizabeth’s, the VON and Campbell House for their compassion and care A special thank you to Dr. Boyd and Nurse Practitioner Shelley. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Wasaga Beach Chapel, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Tuesday May 2, 2017 from 12 noon for the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1 o’clock. Interment Wasaga Beach Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society of Greater Simcoe would be appreciated by Carmen’s family.
