Elder, William David “Bill”
Died peacefully on Tuesday March 7, 2017 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age of 68. Bill of New Lowell, beloved husband of Heidi. Loving father of Kimberly and her husband John Patterson and Kristi and her partner Mike Grant. Cherished grandfather of Nate and Ryland Patterson and Harper Grant. Dear brother of John (Ann), Jim (Helen), Jane (Barry Corby) and Wendy (Lorne Rowbotham). Predeceased by his parents Keith and Jean Elder. Bill will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and fellow farmers. Bill was a very hardworking, kind man who spent most of his working years on his land. A successful dairy farmer, you could always count on him to lend a hand or offer advice. But primarily, Bill's priority was his family. He worked with the sole purpose to ensure that his girls would be taken care of. His love for his family was amplified with the addition of his pride and joy, his grandchildren. Spoiled, and loved to the fullest each and every day, they were the apple of his eye. "Papa" will truly be missed. The Elder family is extremely grateful to the many dedicated friends, extended family, and healthcare workers who made Bill's life as content and pleasant as it could be during the last years of his life. A Graveside Service will be held at the Stayner Union Cemetery on Saturday May 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.. Arrangements under the care of the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel.
