LeBannister, Joan Elizabeth
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the General and Marine Hospital, Collingwood in her 91st year. Joan (nee Morris) of Wasaga Beach, beloved wife of the late Ken for almost 67 years. Loving mother of Larry and his wife Francine, Ross and his wife Maria and Jeffrey and his wife Della. Dear grandmother of Andrea (Sebastian Houde), Erin, Matthew (Megan), Christine, Andrew and Ty and step-grandmother of Don Parent and Eric Fullum. Dear great-grandmother of Eric, Max, Eva, Ben, Bode and Asher. Survived by her sister Julie (Bill Patten) and her brother Dave Morris (Pat Lelong). Joan endured a tough wartime upbringing in England, then as a war bride she accompanied her Canadian war veteran husband to her new home across the ocean. She was always family orientated and independent to the end. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home - Wasaga Beach Chapel on Saturday March 25, 2017 from 2 to 4 p.m. for a come and go reception. Cremation has taken place. If desired, remembrances to the Children’s Wish Foundation would be appreciated by Joan’s family.
