Passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 2, 2016 at the Errinrung Residence, Thornbury at the age of 91. Jim of Stayner, beloved husband of Ethel. Dear step-father of Stephen Melnick, John Malnick, Terrence Melnick and Marie Blodgett. Brother of the late Mervyn and the late Jean. Uncle of Lynda (Doug) McNicol, Dianne Kirby, Shirley Noble, Dave Rawn, Judy Bourrett and Kenneth J. Joynson. Predeceased by his parents Edward and Alice Rawn. Jim was a longtime employee of General Tire in Barrie and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Knights of Columbus. He will be missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home – Stayner Chapel, 7313 Highway 26, Stayner on Monday November 7, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 215 Pine Street, Stayner on Tuesday November 8, 2016 at 11 a.m.. Interment Stayner Union Cemetery. Reception to follow at St. Patrick’s Hall. If desired, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by Jim’s family.
